Activision resets Call of Duty: Mobile’s season count

The Call of Duty: Mobile season reset is expected to bring in the FAMAS assault rifle and a new map

Activision is planning a reset to its popular game Call of Duty: Mobile. The developers have announced that the next season of the game will not follow convention and will instead reset back to square one. So instead of it being called Season 14, it will instead be called Season 1 now.

Details still under wraps

How this will impact the game and what changes can players expect is not yet certain. However, information available over multiple forums has revealed that the team is preparing a ‘much larger’ update for next week that is expected to include an end to Season 13 and an introduction to Season 1.

Activision releases a new season into Call of Duty: Mobile every month. The reason behind the move could be for simplifying the total seasonal tally and making things easier for gamers. The company has said that it will be unveiling the season next week along with a few teasers being released around that time.

Gamers await updates

The community update has further confirmed that two new weapons will be coming with the new season. One of these is touted to be the FAMAS assault rifle or a weapon loosely based on it. A new Marksman rifle might also be coming soon.

A new map called Rebirth may also find its way to the game as the upcoming season unfolds. It was present in the public test build that was released in December 2020 but wasn’t released in season 13.

It is yet to be ascertained as to when the update will arrive, but considering that the current Season 13 Battle Pass will end in just over a week, one can expect it to drop in about two weeks. Before that, expect Activision to host some temporary events to ring in the new season.

Earlier this week, Activision also released a public test build for CODM. The build was used for certain ‘tech-based’ tests but also revealed a new mode: The Attack of the Undead 20, which could be coming next season.
