China Dota 2 SuperMajor- Mineski and ViciGaming secures TI8 invites

The hype is real with the China Dota 2 SuperMajor with a Prize pool of 1,500,000 $ and 2250 DPC points have got players hooked onto the ongoing matches in Shanghai.

4 teams have already got their TI8 direct invites and the SuperMajor will give us the final 4 teams to get the direct invites.
Current list of teams having received TI8 direct invites:

• Virtus Pro
• PSG.LGD
• Team Liquid
• Team Secret

As per the current major matches results, Mineski and Vici Gaming have also secured their spots for the Direct invites. Team Newbee and VGJ Thunder ranked 7th and 8th teams on the DPC leaderboard respectively, might have it hard if any other lower ranked team secures their spot in the top 4 in the ongoing event. But that would be hard because they’d have to face the top tier teams of the likes of VP, LGD, Liquid and Secret who are currently holding their forte in the main upper bracket.

Here is a quick view on the group stages of the major where the results being in favor of the top tier teams without any surprises in hold. The teams which qualified to the main bracket of the event:

Group A: Team Liquid and Newbee(LB)

Group B: Virtus.Pro and TNC Pro Team(LB)

Group C: Team Secret and Mineski(LB)

Group D: PSG.LGD and Optic Gaming(LB)

8 teams will fight their way in a knock-out pattern in the lower bracket to have a chance to compete in the grand finals. In TI7 and quite a few minor and major events, we’ve seen a dark horse maintaining their zeal in the lower brackets and get their hands on the grand prize. With this, we’ll find out soon enough which team will be dominating the lower bracket or they will get knocked out by the main bracket drop-out teams.
