One of the major announcements by Epic was to announce it’s 100,000,000 $ funding for Fortnite events prize pool throughout the world.
With the announcement of Fortnite World Cup 2019 in the E3, Fortnite has taken its fans throughout the world by surprise and it seemed too early for having Fortnite ready for such huge event pattern. Fortnite has one of the biggest player base currently played and watched around the world with player base reaching over 125 Million and weekly viewership of 30 Million hours which is almost double to the second rank League of Legends(LOL) which has around 15 M hours watched in the previous week.

Forntite is most popular for it’s Battle Royale (PvP) mode which is also the reason for its ongoing litigation with PUBG(Player Unknown’s Battleground) developers. Fortnite saw a huge leap in popularity when it turned it’s access free for players worldwide into the battle royale mode and with its creative team developing new in-game tools which attract more users. Tyler “Ninja” is currently the top gaming streamer and content producer for Fortnite attracting over 5 mil hours of gameplay watched per month on his streams.
To celebrate the community and competitive play, Epic has announced the Fortnite World Cup 2019. There’ll community-run events, online events and major competitions all over the world. There’s no prior requirement for participating in the events so anyone can participate and win. Various region qualifiers will be held for players from different regions to compete for the Fortnite World Cup.
The 100 M $ Prize money will be split and distributed in accordance with size and type of event around the globe. The matches will be focused on Solos and Duos but there will also be certain instances where partying up as a squad will be allowed.
The competition and moving forward to get a hold of the grand prize will depend on the player skills. Epic has also announced that there will be no selling of teams or franchises and no other third party leads will be allowed to do so too.
The exact rules and code of conducts for the events will be announced by the end of 2018.
