Fortnite Season 5 to get Black Panther skin

If new leaks are anything to go by, season 5 of Fortnite will include Black Panther, as a tribute to the character played by the late Chadwick Boseman. Referred to as the Marvel skin, the Black Panther option forms a part of the hunter-theme of the game, which is currently in its Chapter two.

Fortnite has introduced a few more Marvel themed skins following the end of Fortnite Season 4. While it was touted that Fortnite would include a Black Panther skin back in Season 4, it is likely that Boseman’s unexpected and untimely death may have resulted in the company rejigging its original plans as a show of respect for the actor.

Apparently, the new leak mentions that Season 5’s Black Panther has an NPC tag in the game files, implying that he may eventually be included as an NPC somewhere as the Season unravels. However, this may also be a tag meant for Black Panther in Fortnite Season 4 which was later scrapped following the actor’s demise.

New leaks as of the patch also suggest that both a Marvel and DC hero will be coming to Fortnite sometime soon. During the prior crossover season, Black Panther had a number of powers included in the game that featured prominently during the Marvel Knockout LTM. This smart blend of well-known and not-so-popular characters keep players guessing that eventually any hero or villain could find their way to Fortnite.

If reports are to be believed, Fortnite might introduce a new retail bundle to the in-game shop in the next couple of weeks, which will include skins for Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Taskmaster. Each skin will boast of its own back bling and harvesting tool, and this bundle may come with two glider options.

According to the leaks, the Marvel Royalty and Warriors Pack will release on or around December 22nd and players will have to shell out $25 for this new offering.
