Google Stadia Pro cloud gaming platform gets new games

Google’s cloud gaming platform Stadia has received five new games to its collection as part of its Stadia Pro collection for 2021

Google’s cloud gaming platform Stadia has added five new games to its assortment as part of Stadia Pro. These games for January 2021 – Ary and the Secret of Seasons, Figment, F1 2020, and Hotline Miami – are currently available for Stadia Pro subscribers. El Hijo is also available to claim, though it was not previously slated to be included. Meanwhile, Jotun and Lara Croft: Temple of Osiris have left Pro without any prior intimation.

Cloud gaming refers to using cloud servers, rather than local devices, to run games. It is a technology whereby high-end gaming experiences can be replicated in a simpler manner and is also cheaper to access. The upside of such an arrangement is that gamers do not have to buy new hardware every few years to access the latest games. Also, this allows users to play any game on any device equipped with a screen and an internet connection.

Cost propositions

The Figment option is priced at $19.99, while the musical journey is being offered at a discounted price of $11.99. F1 2020 is the most expensive game being offered in this batch at $59.99, but post discount it stands at $29.99. Similarly, Ary and the Secret of Seasons and Hotline Miami will be available for $39.99 and $9.99 respectively. Currently, there are over 30 games available as part of the Stadia Pro subscription that costs $9.99 which is equivalent to approximately Rs 740 per month.

To further add to the goodies list, Google has announced that around 400 new games are currently in the pipeline and on their way for its Stadia Cloud game streaming service. Confirming this news via a recent announcement, Jack Buser, Stadia Director of Games, said that most of these games would be arriving in 2021 and for years to come.

No initial payment required

Meanwhile, Google is offering a trial to Stadia Pro Cloud game streaming service entirely free of cost and customers will not need to make any upfront payment to avail the benefits. While one-month trials have been available since April last year when the free tier was launched, they have always required a payment method in advance so that the trail can automatically continue when the free month ends. This option surely sweetens the deal for Google Stadia users.
