Skyesports has announced Valorant League 2021 in April

The Valorant League 2021 organized by Skyesports will hit the floor in April this year and will feature with a LAN feature final

Skyesports has announced the next iteration of the Valorant League 2021 and it will go live on the 9th of April this year. The previous installment of the event held last year was a grand success and this edition will retain the team owners from 2020.

Highlights of Skyesports Valorant League 2021

The 2021 edition might see the same cities competing from last year, as the team owners remain unchanged. It is unlikely that team owners would want to reshuffle a combination that worked successfully in the last event.

The organizer has also mentioned that this edition will come with a LAN feature, as the finals will be held offline. This would be the first time Valorant will organize a LAN-enabled final.

The game was launched last year amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While fans viewed the event enthusiastically,  the pandemic made it compulsory for an online modus operandi for the event.

This time around Skyesports promised to showcase the tournament in a bigger way along with more excitement for fans.

Skyesports Valorant League 2020 a success

Skyesports Valorant league 2.0 started on December 4th 2020, sprawling over 26 days of riveting Valorant games. It managed to generate record viewership and came with a massive prize pool of Rs one lakh.

Instead of different Esports teams, the league featured inter-city matches represented by players or organizations. Eight cities participated in the tournament. They were:

  • Delhi
  • Bengaluru
  • Mumbai
  • Chennai
  • Kolkata
  • Hyderabad
  • Punjab
  • Rajasthan

To advance to the playoffs, these teams were put in two groups of four, who competed in Bo3 matches. Team Hyderabad and Team Rajasthan played in the finals, in which Hyderabad took the series with winning stats of 3-0.

Team Mahi represented Team Hyderabad. The majority of the total prize-pool was divided between the top four teams, while teams placing between the 5th and 8th got a smaller portion according to standing.
