Sony PS5 users have filed a class action lawsuit against Sony for malfunctioning DualSense controllers affected by a drift issue
A lawsuit has been filed against Sony, which says that there is a drift defect in the DualSense PS5 controller‘s core functionality. Suit calls it a complete “unlawful, deceptive and an unfair act” by Sony.

According to the USA law firm this class action lawsuit against Sony, says that this defect is due to drift issues in the PS5 joystick. However, apparently the company was aware of it earlier.
As per the floating reports, people have been facing this specific issue with the controller as well as with its functioning part. Over the last few months, users knew about the problem of ‘drift’ defects.
Drift is basically an issue where the controllers’ joystick will start malfunctioning, which as a result, there will be an unintentional movement or shift in camera angles.
Hence, while users are playing games, they will come up with this problem due to unintended inputs; thanks to a faulty controller.
What is surprising is that the Nintendo Switch has also got a similar problem. And all those users who were facing this problem earlier, are quick to catch on to this matter.
This report first appeared last week. But at that point of time, the law firm was only involved in gathering the detailed information from affected users.
However, the firm is now moving forward with this lawsuit against Sony. The aim of the lawsuit against Sony is all about over consumer fraud and make the company offer free replacements.
However, if Sony loses this lawsuit, it does not mean gamers who bought a PS5 will get a DualSense controller for free. All those people only who have opted into the class action lawsuit will certainly receive a new controller. This will be in case the lawsuit is successful.
On the other hand, the legal course is now seeking damages for “potential out of pocket expenses”. This is to proactively reimburse those who have had to buy a new controller.
