Riot Games has unveiled exciting new updates for the upcoming 2.1 Wild Rift patch update. This update is scheduled to run for the months of February and March. Three additional patches: 2.1a, 2.1b and 2.1c, have also been announced for balance adjustments and bugfixes.
With this new patch, Riot has added the much-anticipated spectator mode. This has been done keeping in mind the rising popularity of Wild Rift globally and the importance of this mode in ensuring future growth.

Players will now also have the ability to watch back their recent matches, spectate/ view their friends and custom games. The replay feature looks similar to the one introduced into the PC game.
This addition will allow players to improve or to look back at their previous performances. Also, it will help them get a sneak-peak into their past fun videos or impressive stints. The custom games feature is expected to be added soon.
The new patch will be a star-studded affair, with Xayah and Rakan poised as the next champions to join the game in February. Riot Games has not yet declared the exact release date for these attractions in the game, but we can expect an update soon. They will be featured alongside the Lunar Beast event to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
This Lunar Beast event coincides with the PC game event of League of Legends, which features skins for Alistar, Annie, Aphelios, Darius, Fiora, Jarvan, and Viego. Some of these skins might make their way to the mobile and console versions, if gamers’ wishes are addressed.
Next in line to woo players would be champion Katarina, the Sinister Blade, who will be introduced in March. This fierce mid lane warrior will be bringing a new option for high-APM assassin players.
Adorning the list of champions post the introduction of Katarina, would be the ‘batch’ of Leona (the Radiant Dawn), Diana (Scorn of the Moon), and Pantheon (the Unbreakable Spear) in mid-March.
As they have been clubbed as a batch, they are expected to be introduced almost at the same time. The event following the Lunar Beast will be called Path of Ascension.
Riot has revealed several lines of skins as well. February and March will have the Omega Squad and five Project skins greeting players. The Project skin line has many of them, so it will be interesting to see which champions get selected to own those in Wild Rift.
