Cloud9 CS:GO beats MIBR to win 14 Straight Rounds at cs_summit 7

Cloud9 CS:GO manages to beat team MIBR at the cs_summit 7 post their defeat against FURIA and a win against Ninjas in Pyjamas

In what seemed like an unattainable feat at an event, Cloud9 CS:GO pulled off an impressive comeback at cs_summit 7 to emerge as a serious contender in an online European tournament.

Cloud9 managed to pull off 14 straight rounds on their CT-side to gain back their own map pick, 16-13.

This resulted in the team eliminating MIBR’s T-side entirely. AWPer/IGL Alex McMeekin and ex-Astralis rifler Patrick ‘es3tag’ Hansen promptly lead from the front.

Cloud9 manages upset at cs_summit 7

The CS:GO team has initially finished third in their group after conceding defeat to FURIA, while being buoyed by a win over Ninjas in Pyjamas. This positioned Cloud9 to establish themselves into the playoffs with a win over the new MIBR roster.

This was despite the fact that the odds were stuck against them early in the tournament, since they were getting destroyed on their map pick, Overpass.

Down 13-2, Cloud9 were relegated to the sidelines and on the brink of elimination. However, this comeback could prove to be a huge momentum booster for this relatively new team on the CS:GO roster.

Cloud9 CS:GO to get a boost

With this win, the Cloud9 Colossus project seems to have received fresh impetus at an early stage. After all, it boasts of being the first North American team to win a major championship in 2018.

The team was smart to rope in Erick ‘Xeppaa’ Bach to the roster just a week ago. It also managed to successfully train Chris ‘Elmapuddy’ Tebbit to provide rich dividends. The AWPing duties were also taken up recently by ALEX over and above his deliverables at IGL.
