CS:GO to launch $1 Million Dreams & Nightmares Workshop Contest

Valve has announced that on July 22nd CS:GO will launch the $1 Million Dreams & Nightmares Workshop Contest, with a reward of $1 million

Valve has announced that CS:GO will launch the $1 Million Dreams & Nightmares Workshop Contest. As the name suggests, a whopping amount of $1 million is up for grabs.

Dreams & Nightmares Workshop Contest: Details

A global initiative, the contest will see participants create 10 original dream or nightmare-themed weapon finishes for CS:GO. Valve says it will announce the winners by November 21st, 2021, where ten winners will get $100,000 each.

Beyond submitting their original weapon finish to the CS:GO Workshop, participants need a non-limited Steam account. Teams composed of multiple members can also register.

Valve has created a dedicated website to facilitate more information for content creators to get a better feel of what’s required. Through this website, interested candidates can gather more info on the types of finishes Valve desires.

They can garner further info on examples of the Dreams & Nightmares theme, info on how to enter, details of the contest, and more. Valve has created a sub forum in CS:GO’s Discussions for artists, technical artists, and others to collaborate on contest-themed submissions and ideas.

The legacy of CS:GO’s Dreams & Nightmares Workshop

Valve launched the Workshop on Steam around 10 years ago intending to create a centralized hub for community created content. Since then, over five million content creators have submitted and published over 20 million new items for a variety of games on Steam. This made them available to millions of gamers around the world.

Eminent members of the community have authored any of the most iconic in-game items, maps, and more. The Dreams & Nightmares Content Contest is designed to help further support this community.
