NVIDIA has decided to sweeten the deal for the select few players who could grab a GeForce RTX 3090 or 3080 card during a highly competitive holiday shopping season, by extending their Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War game bundle. Players will now be able to enjoy the benefits of the bundle till 11th of January, from the previously stipulated date of December 10th. Incidentally, January 11th also marks the commencement of CES.
NVIDIA is no stranger to offering Call of Duty bundles a few times in the past, so including this year’s game is quickly becoming a standard norm for the company. One of the biggest games to hit the market every year, NVIDIA and its developer relations team have worked with developer Treyarch to implement several technologies, including ray tracing support, NVIDIA’s DLSS, and NVIDIA’s new Reflex latency-reduction tech. So as is common with a lot of NVIDIA’s RTX series game bundles, it’s designed to highlight the capabilities of the hardware and at the same time add to the worth of NVIDIA’s cards.
Host of new features await
NVIDIA will be including the standard edition of Call of Duty with the top two cards of their RTX 30-series lineup, the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. Also on offer would be new desktop systems that include those cards. Though game bundles with high-end cards aren’t unusual, RTX 30 series card sales are performing so well that NVIDIA does not really need to undertake extra efforts to sell their cards.
We must also consider the competition here, with AMD’s recently-launched Radeon RX 6000 series cards now putting up a tough competition for the high-end market. Even if they are in equally short supply, any sale that goes to AMD, adds to the number game moving away from NVIDIA. At any rate, this is NVIDIA’s only game bundle for the moment.
The company is not running the Call of Duty bundle for the recently-launched RTX 3070 or RTX 3060 Ti, nor are they including any games with their previous-generation RTX 20-series or GTX 16-series cards. As is true for older versions, codes must be redeemed via the GeForce Experience application on a system with a qualifying graphics card installed. Gamers are requested to verify the participation of any vendors they purchase the game from, as NVIDIA has made it clear that it will not give codes for purchases made from non-participating sellers.
