SpongeBob SquarePants will be available from Jan 21 at a price of $9 & without any paywalls during gaming
The success witnessed by SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated after its launch on PC and console last year has now triggered exciting news for mobile gamers as the game will now be available on mobiles. Both the users of Android and iOS will be able to enjoy the ‘Rehydrated’ version of the famous Spongebob game.
The news was confirmed on the official Twitter handle of Handy Games, the developer of the game, who announced that Battle for Bikini Bottom will be coming to mobile phones on the 21st January 2021. The game will be available for download from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
All the major characters surrounding Spongebob SquarePants will make an appearance in the new game. Most of the specifications of the mobile launch remain the same as the PC and console release. To put things into perspective, players will now be able to play as Spongebob or choose to play as Patrick or Sandy.
The goal is to save their town Bikini Bottom from Plankton’s evil plan of ruling over it. The tiny city is located on the floor of the Pacific Ocean and not only is it Spongebob and Patrick’s home but also their workplace as Spongebob works at the restaurant called the Krusty Krab and is employed as a fry cook.
The game includes some of the episodes that had featured in the original Battle for Bikini Bottom game that was launched in the year 2003 and has since emerged as a massive hit. It will be available to gamers for a price of $9. The makers of the game, however, have clearly mentioned that no microtransactions or hidden paywalls will disturb the gamers while playing on their phones.
Another interesting aspect, which drew the attention of Spongebob fans, was the caption to the post that focused on the underwater landscape of the game as the Spongebob universe resides under the sea.
