Valve to host The International 10 Dota 2 Championships in Bucharest

Valve has announced that The International 10 Dota 2 Championships will be held this October in Bucharest, Romania, with a prize pool exceeding $4 million

Valve has announced that The International 10 – Dota 2 Championships will be held this October in Bucharest, Romania. The epic battle for the Aegis of Champions will unfold for fans inside the country’s largest stadium: Arena Nationala.

Valve’s The International 10: Details

Group Stage will run October 7 – 10, with Main Stage play kicking off on October 12. Then on October 17, the two finest Dota 2 teams in the world will face off for the Aegis.

The prize pool awaiting the contestants is $40,018,195, which the finalists will duly share. Valve has promised to announce additional information on ticket sales shortly.

Sharing their gratitude towards the new hosts, Valve said that the company is grateful for their fruitful partnership with Romania and the city of Bucharest.

“We very much look forward to gathering with the global Dota 2 community, both in-person and virtually,” mentioned Valve.

Guidelines for The International 10

The aim is to celebrate the elite players and amazing fandom at The International 10. In due course, Valve will declare other details regarding Romania’s health and safety guidelines for hosting the event in public.

Currently there are no blocking measures in place at the site. However, spectators may need to undergo health checks or perform quarantine. Valve had postponed the competition in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fans of the tournament will remember that Valve decided to shift The International 10 Championships to a venue outside Stockholm. This is because the Swedish government and the Swedish Sports Federation failed to accept Esports into the sports federation.
