Anti-cheating measures in BGMI: Krafton answers gamers’ concerns

Krafton recently shared the various anti-cheating measures implemented currently in BGMI, along with future checks on illegal programs

Krafton has witnessed unprecedented success with the launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). While fans of the re-badged PUB-G have lapped up the game with aplomb, many have encountered cheaters.

To address this concern, along with a few other recurring issues, Krafton enumerated its efforts to stop cheating in BGMI. Fans of the game have been taking to community channels to voice their concerns over the past few weeks.

Krafton’s anti-cheating measure in BGMI

The BGMI developers have applied a 24-hour security system to detect and ban cheaters. If this system detects an account using an illegal program, the account gets automatically banned in real-time.

Players receive a notification that informs a real-time sanction to the cheater. Krafton also informs players via its weekly anti-cheat notice on the website, about the number of accounts sanctioned.

Manual sanctions in BGMI anti-cheating

In addition to this anti-cheating system, the BGMI devs regularly search and investigate the promotion/use of illegal programs on websites. Once a suspect account surfaces, Krafton manually sanctions it.

Youtube is a common platform, which is regularly scanned for BGMI cheaters. Krafton is working hard to block any channels that are advertising/promoting the use of illegal programs.

In case a gamer comes across such channels that are advertising or promoting, they can contact Krafton via Customer Service. The devs have assured of a quick review and action.

“Tap on the arrow at the bottom right corner of the lobby > SETTINGS > Basic > Tap Customer Service at the bottom right corner > Attach the link of the video or channel, and submit”.

Anti-cheating: An ongoing process at BGMI

Krafton will be introducing additional measures and actions in the future, including the ones mentioned above. A key area Krafton is working on is to create better ways to eradicate the use of illegal programs.

“We will continue to implement strong measures against illegal programs. The aim is to provide you with a pleasant gaming environment,” the developer asserted.
