Valve launches Dota Plus Spring Update for 2021 with more Content

The new Dota Plus Spring 2021 update gets Turbo enhancements, revamped Hero relics and a new seasonal treasure with shards

Valve has released the Dota Plus Spring 2021 Update and with it comes more content for subscribers to be explored over the next few months. The new Spring Update brings in advanced Hero Relics, added Turbo functionality, a seasonal treasure and refreshed guild quests and rewards.

Apparently, the developers want to leave no stone unturned this time to please Dota Plus subscribers. Many were not entirely satisfied with the last update, where they weren’t able to find new ways to grind XP, despite the Grandmaster tier being added. This meant leveling up to a certain point became increasingly challenging.

Dota Plus Spring Update 2021: Overview

With the new update, players will be able to earn bonus hero XP with each advancement made on their relics. Hero relics will also gain levels and whenever a relic levels up, gamers will receive bonus hero XP at the end of the game.

The developer has overhauled the Hero relic purchasing algorithm in this Spring Update. Earlier, gamers could purchase a random relic for 800 shards along with a chance to earn duplicates.

With the new system, players will now be able to purchase random common relics for 1,600 shards. They will also be eligible to get random rare relics for 8,000 shards without getting any duplicates.

The new Season Update will see Turbo matches starting their relic progression count at half the normal Dota match rates. This will make the mode more attractive to players eying a quick casual game while still grinding Hero XP.

Seasonal Treasure Spring Updates

The new patch introduces the Spring 2021 Seasonal Treasure. It is now available for purchase along with shards. Dota Plus members will get exclusive rights to these treasures.

On offer are all new sets for Bloodseeker, Windranger, Clockwerk, Slark, Lich, Broodmother, Sand King, Drow Ranger, Pugna, Juggernaut and Magnus.

Players will also get a chance to unlock Mango the Newt courier. This comes preloaded with random prismatic and kinetic gems.

The new Season Update gives players an opportunity to acquire a total of 115,200 shards from the new seasonal quests. The recent patch has also switched out the silver, gold and platinum tier guild rewards.
