Direct Invites for The International 8!

With the conclusion of ESL Birmingham Major, a one of it’s kind and the first major event to every be organized in the UK, Valve released direct invites to the top 4 teams in the current season’sPro Circuit.

Currently, the Direct invites are secured by teams:

• Virtus Pro
• PSG.LGD
• Team Liquid
• Team Secret

Virtus Pro scored their flawless win in the ESL Birmingham Major against Optic Gaming winning its 4th major in the ongoing season for TI8 Pro Circuit.

There are a lot of speculations of the remaining 4 teams to fill up the slots which will be decided after the conclusion of China Dota 2 SuperMajor with a whopping Prize pool of 1.5 Mil $ and 2250 DPC(Dota Pro Circuit) Points. The current heavyweights at the top of the Pro Circuit standing, 4 of which are highly likely to get direct invites are:

• Mineski [3150 DPC]
• Vici Gaming [2835 DPC]
• Newbee [2445 DPC]
• VGJ Thunder [1935 DPC]
• Optic Gaming [1800 DPC]
• Fnatic [1265 DPC]

Optic gaming had recently jumped several ranking spots by securing the 2nd position in the ESL Birmingham Major. And so, Top Tier teams like OG and EG were hopes for a lot of their fans to secure their spot with the ESL Birmingham Major, but EG getting knocked out from group stage and OG getting stuck at the Top 6 was a harsh knock on their heads and the Roster change was inevitable.

EG has recently kicked out “Misery”, dropped “Fear” and picked up OG stars S4 and Fly. Now OG is remaining with only 1 of it’s founding players “N0tail”.
EG and OG will have to try their best with what they’ve got and fight it all in the Regional Qualifiers to get into The International.

China Dota 2 SuperMajor will decide on the last 4 teams to get the Direct Invites to The International 8.
