Call of Duty League Super Week

Stage 1 Week 2 of the Call of Duty League will have a combined Super Week featuring all 20 matches starting February 22, on account of US power outage

Call of Duty League has decided to delay its Stage 1 Week 2 schedule slated for upcoming Thursday. The league will now host a ‘Super Week’ featuring 20 group play matches played over seven consecutive days starting February 22.

Call of Duty League schedule: Overview

The committee at CoD League took this decision due to severe winter storms. These have caused damage to power grids and electricity supply across many states.

This schedule revision means that the 10 matches that were set to take place from February 18 to 21 will be combined with the 10 games scheduled from February 25 to 28, into one week of sporting activity.

The Call of Duty Super Week will now feature the same 20 matches from Weeks 2-3, which were previously determined by the Stage I Group Selection show. The league will be evenly spreading the matches across seven consecutive days.

League agenda for teams

The short duration of the league will make things tight. Each match in the Super Week will have critical implications on team rankings in the Major I Tournament taking place in two weeks.

The league also announced that only the first day, February 22, will be a doubleheader. On each of the remaining six days, three matches will be played.

On the first day, Florida Mutineers will face the Los Angeles Guerrillas. Also, the Toronto Ultra take on the Atlanta FaZe. From Tuesday till Sunday the league will conduct tripleheaders each day.

Call of Duty League: Operational Challenges

While the power situation is quite severe across the US, Texas seems to be the state most impacted by this outrage. Unfortunately, 24 pro Call of Duty players hail from this region.

The Call of Duty League does not want to hurry these players into participating in Stage 1 Week 2.

“Teams and players will get more time to get safely situated. They should effectively prepare for upcoming matches leading up to the first Major Tournament of the season,” said an official Call of Duty League statement.
