Valorant Escalation Mode to remain Active, Rotating Modes for the Future

Valorant has announced that the Escalation Mode is here to stay and Riot is considering periodic rotating modes in the future

Valorant’s new game modes always excite players and encourage the gamer’s community to participate and enjoy. Players have been eagerly looking forward to the next game mode expected soon.

The Winter Snowball Fight mode was a grand success of and Escalation mode received a lot of praise. There is a lot of hype around this mode and players are eagerly waiting for any update coming their way.

Latest Update on the Escalation Mode

Until the matches are quick and queues are healthy, Escalation mode is going to stay. The developer has also planned rotating modes for the future.

For now, as long as queues are healthy and matches are quick to get into, it’s going to stay up. We do envision a future where we have more modes rotating in and out of the mode ecosystem.

Jared Berbach, principal producer at Valorant, discussed about the chaotically-fun game Escalation mode will stay for now.

For the future Riot Games is planning to introduce periodically rotating modes, similar to the way they rotated Snowball Fight.

Snowball Fight: A temporary Mode

The Snowball Fight was a temporary game mode added by Riot to Valorant on a special occasion, allowing players to bash each other with snow. At the same time, they were able to collect power-ups across the map.

This mode however, was just for the holiday season. But the Spike Rush, Deathmatch and Escalation mode seem to be the permanent additions to the Valorant.

According to Berbach, Spike Rush was a limited-time mode. But owing to its strong demand, queue health and continued engagement, this mode maintained its place in the ecosystem.

The developers determine a mode’s performance through player’s data. This info is related to the number of hours spend by the players and their satisfaction level.

Likely Addition of Warmup Mode

Last weekend, Berbach had revealed another update via social media. He explained the likely addition of a warmup mode that may be added in the future.

This mode would cater to the players’ requirements of an infinite Deathmatch-style session.

However, this mode might be complex to create because it will have possibilities for players to join matches in between. There would also be a possibility of warming up while waiting for a match in a queue.

Nevertheless, no fixed date and time have been announced for the release of this Valorant’s warm-up mode.
