Sony Corp has announced the launch of its latest PS5 console for the Indian market in next month and its PlayStation Plus subscription module will also get new free games
PlayStation fans in India were up for a surprise on New Year’s Day, as Sony has finally announced the release date of its PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming console in the country. The new device will be launched in India on February 2nd, 2021. However, it can be pre-ordered starting 12 noon on January 12th.
Gamers would be aware that Sony had already announced prices for this new console, which would cost Rs 49,990 for the disk edition and Rs 39,990 for the digital edition. Pre-orders will be available until stocks last with designated retailers. Also announced are the prices of the PS5 accessories.
In a Twitter statement, Sony PlayStation India’s account mentioned that “We take this opportunity to once more thank our PlayStation enthusiasts for their patience and enthusiasm around PS5.”
Due to the very high demand witnessed by Sony for the PS5 console, the company had ascertained that inventories of PS5 would be added by the end of 2020. Players were asked to stay in touch with retailers to know the availability of the product.
To add to the excitement of players, Sony has also announced that users of its gaming subscription service ‘PlayStation Plus’ will get a new lineup of free games this month. As per a Sony statement, PlayStation Plus members will receive two PS4 titles: action-adventure Shadow of the Tomb Raider and action RPG GreedFall on January 5th.
On the same day, PlayStation 5 owners with a PlayStation Plus membership can play an exciting open-world RPG Apex Predator in the open-world RPG Maneater. This game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in May 2020, while Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 saw the game release in November 2020. Nintendo Switch players can get their hands on this game in the first half of 2021.
